Risk Treatment Plan

Documented approach specifying actions, responsibilities, timelines, and resources for addressing identified risks.

Full definition
A risk treatment plan outlines the selected risk response strategy (avoid, mitigate, transfer, or accept) along with detailed implementation steps, assigned owners, completion deadlines, required budgets, success metrics, and monitoring arrangements. The plan translates risk assessment findings into actionable initiatives with clear accountability. For instance, a risk treatment plan for supply chain disruption risk might specify actions including qualifying backup suppliers by Q2, increasing safety stock levels to 30 days by Q3, implementing supply chain monitoring software by Q4, with the procurement director as owner and $500,000 budget allocated. Plans undergo regular review to track progress, adjust for changing circumstances, and ensure resources remain committed to completion.
